Ming-Dynasty Zodiac Figure

Gravefigures is a tradition originating from the first chinese emperor Qin She Huang. The figures were a symbol of status and were supposed to protect and help the owner in the afterlife.

This is a so-called Zodiac figure. They usually come in a set of 12 - where each of them are holding an animal. This figure is holding a little sheep.
This has been glazed in a nice turquoise and darkblue paint.
The zodiac figures were also only used for the highest in society.
